Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Major Recruitment proudly working in partnership with a large UK Based FMCG company in North Lanarkshire who are in search of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This role is ideal for a time-served engineer that wants to learn electrical disciplines and become multi-skilled.

The Role:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.

• Work on a range of mechanical systems including conveyors, gearboxes, and automated equipment.

• Diagnose and repair faults quickly to minimise downtime.

• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.

• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company standards.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to ongoing reliability improvements.

About You:

• Time-served or qualified in Mechanical Engineering (apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent).

• Proven experience within a manufacturing or high-volume production environment.

• Keen to learn electrical skills and become multi-skilled.

• Strong knowledge of conveyors, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.

• Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
